Andrew Rich is President and CEO of the Roosevelt Institute. He joined the Institute in January 2009. Rich is the author of Think Tanks, Public Policy, and the Politics of Expertise, as well as a wide ranging number of articles about think tanks, interest groups, foundations, individual donors, and the role of experts and ideas in the American policy process. He was Chairman of the Political Science Department at City College of New York (CCNY) before joining the Roosevelt Institute. He was also Deputy Director and Director of Programs at the Colin Powell Center for Policy Studies at CCNY. He served as a consultant to the Open Society Institute from 2006 to 2008 and has worked extensively with foundations and donors interested in investing in politically progressive policy and intellectual organizations.
